Plants have so many healing factors.  The transition to green products has been long overdue, but at least we finally got there!  Switching from chemical-based to plant-based products will provide an infinite amount of benefits that will truly show in every aspect of your life.

Aromatherapy is an alternative medicine using naturally extracted aromatic materials from plants, which are called essential oils.   With such a concentrated form of plant material, the benefits from them are vast.  Aromatherapy has been around in some form for thousands of years; however, over the past few years, it has become a widely used form of healing. Yet I still don’t think many know how many psychological and physical benefits it truly holds.  

Aromatherapy has the ability to relieve stress, speed up the healing process, ease depression, strengthen the immune system, alleviate joint pain, and help induce sleep.  These are just a few of the enormous benefits that come from essential oils; the benefits are endless and can easily be obtained with a little work!  It’s amazing how much our body can acquire from the plants we tend to take for granted with a little conscious effort as to how we treat our body.  

If you listen to your body, you can tell what type of ailments it is feeling.  Fortunately, if you do a simple Google search you can find some type of essential oil remedy to help!  One of my favorites is lavender; it is one of the most versatile essential oils!  I use it for relaxation before bed, but it can also be used to clean cuts, help with eczema and motion sickness, and relieve dry skin.  While this is only one of the many essential oils out there, you can see how beneficial they are to overall health and wellbeing.

When people think of how to use aromatherapy, they usually only think of inhaling the aroma of the essential oils.  Getting a diffuser can allow the air around you to be filled with the energy of the plants you choose.  While this is an amazing way to acquire the benefits, there is another way.  Many don’t know, but essential oils can be absorbed through the skin.   Green beauty products that use essential oils give you the benefits of the product, but your body also absorbs the benefits of the plants: Win-Win! I know some companies say that in small quantities you can ingest essential oils but I would strongly caution you to refrain from that…if you do some research you will understand why it’s not a responsible choice to drink them.  Doing so can really cause harm to the body, such as burns and lesions throughout the same digestive system that you are trying to rebalance.  Just because essential oils are natural does not necessarily mean that they are always safe, particularly if used in improper ways.  You can achieve the right amount of balance in your body without ingesting essential oils, so why even do it?

While I am new to aromatherapy, I can already feel myself absorbing the benefits that these amazing plants hold.  It used to take me forever to fall asleep, and I would wake up restless.  After using aromatherapy and using strictly green products, I find myself falling into a deeper sleep and gaining a lot more energy to finish all the tasks I have in the day!  Aromatherapy, coupled with green products, can definitely transform your life in more ways than one, and I can’t wait to keep exploring all of their amazing benefits!  While I am still continuing to increase my knowledge of this movement, I am really excited about all the information I am learning from KHUS+KHUS and especially my boss, Kristi, who is filled with so much wisdom that transfers to both her business and her products, and has made this transformation so much easier for me.
